Individual Workplace Advisory

Having a problem at work?

You don't have to figure out what to do next by yourself.

Something changed.

Your boss is suddenly treating you differently. You received a warning you weren't expecting. You've been put on a PIP. You're thinking about making a complaint. You need an accommodation. HR wants to meet with you. You're worried you're going to be fired.

Or maybe you can't point to one specific thing. You just know something at work isn't right.

This is exactly the kind of situation we can talk through.

Tell me what's happening.

We'll sit down one-on-one and work through it.

I'll help you separate what matters from what doesn't, think through your options, decide what you should document, prepare for conversations, and make a plan for what you do next.

And because I've spent years on the HR, management, and employment-law side of these situations, I can help you understand what may be happening on the other side of the table.

You might come to me because you're wondering:

  • Should I go to HR?

  • What should I say to my boss?

  • How should I respond to this PIP or written warning?

  • Should I put something in writing?

  • What should I document?

  • How do I prepare for this meeting?

  • Is HR actually investigating my complaint?

  • Why are they asking me this?

  • Am I making this situation worse?

  • Should I start looking for another job?

  • Do I need an employment lawyer?

  • Is there something important here that I'm not seeing?

You don't need to know exactly what kind of help you need before we talk.

That's part of what we'll figure out together.

What this isn't

This isn't therapy, traditional career coaching, or a promise that I can make your employer behave differently.

And although I am a licensed attorney, I am not your attorney through this service.

Individual Workplace Advisory is practical workplace strategy and guidance, not legal representation. An attorney-client relationship exists only if we separately enter into a written agreement specifically for legal services.

If what you tell me makes me think you need legal advice or representation, I'll say so. The same goes for other professional help that may be outside my role.

Sometimes you just need someone who knows how this stuff works.

Work problems can become incredibly personal when you're the person living through them. It can be hard to tell what's significant, what's normal workplace dysfunction, what's worth pushing back on, and what might actually require professional help.

That's where I can be useful.

You bring me the situation. I'll bring the experience, questions, perspective, and an understanding of what may be happening behind the scenes.

Then we'll figure out your next move.

Before you send the email, walk into the meeting, go to HR, or make a big decision about your job, let's talk it through.
